Learning Inquiry Harvest: Cafe

From the CIP Learning Inquiry, in participants' own words...

+ I always check in to the Cafe first, to see who's hanging out there, what new surprises there are. It's the place where I like to hang about, think great thoughts, make new connections. I love it when there is a flurry of comments about an idea that arises. And I absolutely bask in the wonderful feeling when someone responds to something I said -- I feel ten feet tall and want to give even more back.
- I was surprised at my reaction to the Cafe. I was intimidated, felt insecure, was unsure of my welcome there, simply read a few conversations but was unwilling to join. I knew no one, was introduced to nobody, and so I ran away.
+ I have most enjoyed reading and, on occasion, responding, at the Cafe Tables. This has felt the most inviting and easiest to connect to. There is a light-heartedness and more personal aspect to the conversation there that I appreciate.
+ I like the free form of the cafe, but that also makes it easy to get sucked in to many conversations. However like a real cafe, you can move from table to table ( but it is easier to do electronically).
+ I have really enjoyed the informality and spontaneity of both the Cafe and Open Space as a way of seeing the community form and look forward to both of them continuing to flower.
